Zebra Corydoras

Albino Corydora is a peaceful bottom-dwelling catfish with a pale, almost white body and a slight pinkish hue. Its body is adorned with translucent fins, and it has the characteristic whisker-like barbels around its mouth, which it uses for foraging along the substrate. This variant of the Bronze Corydora is a favorite among aquarists for its unique appearance and active nature.

Aquarium Size:
A minimum of 20 gallons is recommended for a group of Albino Corydoras, as they thrive best in social groups.

• Hardness: Soft to moderate

Temperament:
Albino Corydoras are peaceful community fish, making them ideal for calm aquariums. They are non-aggressive and highly social bottom dwellers.

Group Size:
Best kept in groups of 6 or more, as they are highly social and feel more secure in larger groups.

Compatibility:
Highly compatible with other peaceful species, including tetras, rasboras, guppies, and other small community fish. Avoid housing them with aggressive or fin-nipping species.

Diet:
Omnivorous. They are bottom feeders and thrive on sinking pellets, wafers, and occasional live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. Supplement their diet with vegetable matter for balanced nutrition.

Care Level:
Beginner. Albino Corydoras are hardy and suitable for novice aquarists but require clean, well-maintained water conditions.

Planted Aquarium:
Albino Corydoras can be kept in planted aquariums. They do not damage plants but prefer soft substrates like sand to protect their delicate barbels.

Invertebrate Compatibility:
Safe with most peaceful invertebrates, including snails and shrimp. They will not prey on tankmates but may scavenge uneaten food near invertebrates.

Lid Recommendation:
A secure lid is recommended, as Albino Corydoras can occasionally dart to the surface for air due to their ability to breathe atmospheric oxygen.

Additional Notes:
These fish are known for their habit of “wiggling” along the substrate while foraging. Their ability to breathe atmospheric air allows them to tolerate lower oxygen levels, though proper filtration and aeration are still essential for optimal health.
